Open-World 3D RPG Development

Job ID: 40020475

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

I’m building a 3D RPG for PC and need a programmer who can turn my concept into a fully playable open-world experience. The core of the job is gameplay code and world-streaming logic: smooth character controls, real-time combat, seamless loading as the player explores, and the underlying systems that keep quests, NPC behaviour, and inventory running consistently across a vast map.

You are free to choose the engine you’re most productive with—Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot—as long as it supports large-scale terrain, modern lighting, and easy extension for future features. I already have a basic design document outlining story beats, environment themes, and key mechanics, so you’ll be able to dive straight into prototyping and iterating.

Deliverables I expect:

• A clean, well-commented project with core movement, interaction, and combat loops implemented.
• A streaming or chunking solution that lets the world feel continuous without noticeable loading.
• At least one test area showcasing terrain, day-night cycle, and placeholder NPCs to prove the systems work.
• Source files and build instructions so I can compile and test on my own machine.

The game is single-player for now; multiplayer or level-based progression may come later, so structure your code with modularity in mind. Performance on mid-range PCs is important—target 60 fps at 1080p.

If you have previous open-world or RPG credits, send a link or build; otherwise, show me a small demo that proves you can handle dynamic environments and AI. Let’s discuss milestones, asset hand-offs, and anything else you need to get started.
