Nairobi Retail Mall Concept
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m looking for a creative architectural partner to turn my vision for a new shopping destination in an upscale Nairobi into a clear, concept . The mall’s core function is retail, and the anchor mix must emphasize Small retail alongside a full-service Grocery Supermarket and an anchor restaurant tenant.
Scope of work
• Produce a detailed site-responsive concept layout: circulation, anchor placement, tenant mix, and service corridors.
• Develop schematic floor plans (ground, typical, parking) showing boutique fashion zones, supermarket footprint, loading bays, and vertical movement.
• Create façade sketches and massing diagrams that feel contemporary yet practical for Nairobi’s climate.
• Outline space allocation for future amenities such as food courts, kids’ play, and entertainment so they can be phased in without redesigning the core retail grid.
• Deliver a concise written brief summarising design rationale, projected GLA, and basic MEP assumptions.
What I’ll provide
• Site parameters and rough footprint.
• Local zoning and height limits.
• Reference images of regional retail styles I like.
What I need from you
• A PDF package with plans, elevations, and 3–5 rendered perspectives.
• Source files (AutoCAD/Revit or similar) organised and layered.
• A short video walkthrough or annotated slide deck highlighting key decisions.
Ideal experience
You’ve previously designed mixed-use or large retail projects in East Africa or similar climates, are comfortable balancing fashion-forward storefronts with high-turnover grocery traffic, and can communicate progress in clear milestones.
If this sounds like the right fit, tell me briefly about a comparable project and how you’ll approach week-by-week deliverables.
