Multipurpose Living-Dining Furniture
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m refreshing a single L-shaped room in a rental apartment that needs to serve as both a living area and dining space. Since this is a rental, no wall changes or built-in alterations are possible. The goal is to create a cozy, welcoming, and functional layout that works for everyday living and feels inviting when guests drop by.
What I Need
Layout Plan or Sketch
• A clear blueprint or simple sketch (PDF, JPG) showing how to arrange key living-room seating and a compact dining setup within the L-shaped footprint.
• The plan should optimize flow and comfort, ideally drawing inspiration from feng shui principles where practical (though it’s not a strict requirement).
Please consider rental-friendly solutions—nothing that requires structural changes or wall-mounting.
3. Design Notes (1 page max)
• A brief explanation of why the layout works, touching on:
• Traffic flow and energy balance
• Ease of conversation and comfort
• How each piece can serve multiple purposes
Note: The kitchen area is already in place and should be treated as a fixed element. Storage is optional and can be included only if it supports the main layout. Would prefer dimensions in cm. Room hight 3.1m, overall sqm 38.1.
When applying, please include:
• A short outline of your design approach
• The software or tools you plan to use (e.g., SketchUp, AutoCAD, Canva, hand sketch)
•. 1–2 samples or links to past room layouts
Goal
A simple, actionable design plan I can implement quickly—smart, flexible, guest-friendly, and warm in atmosphere.
