Multi-Material CNC Prototyping
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
A short-run manufacturing partner capable of translating my hand sketches and diagrams into production-ready CAD files and precision-cut prototypes in wood, metal, and plastic will complete the next stage of my product development cycle. The parts are strictly for prototyping at this point, yet dimensional accuracy and surface finish must be close to production quality so that functional testing is meaningful and reliable.
You will receive scanned sketches with key dimensions and notes. From there, create clean 3D models (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or an equivalent platform that allows easy file exchange) and generate toolpaths suitable for your CNC equipment. The job covers both the CAD/CAM work and the actual cutting of the pieces on your end.
Deliverables
• Editable CAD files (STEP and native format) derived from my sketches
• CAM files/toolpaths and a brief setup sheet
• Finished prototype parts in wood, aluminum or mild steel, and ABS or similar plastic (one set of each material) shipped to my address
• Quick photo report showing critical dimensions verified to ±0.1 mm
Acceptance criteria
• All dimensions match the drawings within the stated tolerance
• No tool marks that interfere with assembly; edges deburred
• Parts arrive packaged to prevent transit damage and are clearly labeled by material
Future potential: once the prototypes pass testing, small batch and possibly larger volume runs will follow, so consistency and clear documentation now are essential. I will be available for rapid feedback throughout the process and can schedule quick video calls for clarifications.
