Modern Cowhide Boiler Suit Design
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I'm seeking a designer to create a modern, fashionable cowhide boiler suit. I’m currently developing a luxury womenswear boiler suit and I'm seeking assistance across several stages of the design and production process.
The boiler suit is envisioned as a premium piece made from cowhide and inspired by the sleek tailoring and understated elegance in YSL’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection. The design balances utilitarian functionality with a modern, luxurious aesthetic, featuring:
• Front Closure: A zip running down the centre for a clean and minimal look. Button details will be reserved for the chest and thigh pockets to maintain a subtle utilitarian edge.
• Pockets: Functional patch pockets on the chest and thighs with button closures, adding texture and practicality while maintaining a refined finish.
• Trousers: Straight, untapered trouser legs styled to appear slightly gathered when tucked into pointed-toe stiletto ankle boots.
• Fit: I wish to experiment with a wide/straight-leg silhouette and an oversized, looser fit through the shoulders and bust, creating a relaxed, contemporary feel. A belt will cinch the waist to maintain structure and balance, offering a tailored yet effortlessly chic look.
• Collar and Shoulders: A flat collar for a minimalist finish, with the potential for shoulder pads to add structure. This requires discussion in more detail as I’m torn between a dropped shoulder or a large, structured look creating an inverted triangle shape.
• Material and Construction: cowhide with the possibility of adding a lining for durability and comfort. The material will emphasise luxurious texture while accommodating functional details like zips and buttons.
