have a project for a compact yet striking kitchen island that must read as unmistakably modern. Your first task is to translate my rough concept notes into a polished design that balances sleek aesthetics with the realities of production inside a wood-focused manufacturing unit. We will be working primarily in wood with cost-sensitive laminate accents; metal can appear only where structure truly demands it. Once the visual design wins approval, I will need full construction documentation in AutoCAD—including plan, elevation, section and detailed joinery sheets ready for the shop floor. Every component should be dimensioned, nested, and labeled so my carpenters can move straight to CNC or manual cutting without extra interpretation. Deliverables on acceptance: • 2–3 rendered perspectives or a short walkthrough illustrating form, workflow clearances and storage strategy • Final AutoCAD package (DWG) with layered, printable sheets at 1:20 and 1:5 details • Simple material schedule indicating wood species, laminate code and any hardware references Keep the design pragmatic, minimising waste sheet off-cuts and optimising standard board sizes; I’m happy to discuss dovetail vs. dowel or confirm edge-banding specs during revisions. If you work in SketchUp, Revit, or Fusion 360 before exporting to DWG, no problem—just be sure the final files open cleanly in AutoCAD 2020.
