Demonstrate the ability to create a simple building model using EnergyPlus.
• Develop an understanding of the BESTEST method (ASHRAE Standard 140) for comparative tests of building simulation models, and apply the method to compare the outputs from the EnergyPlus model (Case 600FF and Case 600).
• Use parametric analysis to sense-check the model
• Demonstrate an understanding of the sources of uncertainties in the simple building model, including
the model limitations, assumptions, missing information, and input errors.
• Undertake a sensitivity analysis of the simple building model
• Apply a multi-objective optimisation method to optimise the design parameters, including shading and daylight control, of the simple building model.
