I have conceptual designs for two models, the robotic "Arm" and the compact "Box." This project will focus exclusively on transforming the "Box" model into a fully functional physical prototype, backed by complete technical documentation. The "Arm" model will be pursued as a separate project at a later stage.
Project Scope: From Concept to Prototype
I am seeking a Mechanical / Mechatronics Design Engineer with strong experience in product development and prototyping. Your role will be to transform my conceptual sketches into a working MVP (minimum viable product). The project will be broken down into two main phases.
Phase 1: Conceptual Design
This phase is focused on taking a rough idea and turning it into a set of engineering-sound concepts.
Create one or more kinematic schemes that show how the robot will handle and apply the material, covering reach, payload, speed, and repeatability targets.
Build clean 3D CAD representations in a mainstream package such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA.
Run first-pass calculations or quick simulations (static loads, basic FEA, simple dynamic checks) to ensure each concept is feasible before we commit to more costly detailed work.
Deliver a short report comparing concept variants, outlining pros, cons, and next-step considerations.
Phase 2: Prototype & Detailed Design
If Phase 1 is successful, we will extend our collaboration to build a working prototype and all necessary documentation.
Physical Prototype: Build and deliver a functional prototype that demonstrates precise automated henna application.
Detailed Mechanical Design: Complete CAD modeling of external casing and internal mechanisms, with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) considerations for injection molding, CNC machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
Electrical & Electronic Schematics: Complete wiring diagrams, PCB layouts (if needed), and system integration documents.
Bill of Materials (BOM): With cost-effective sourcing suggestions for motors, sensors, and actuators.
2D Manufacturing Drawings: Complete with tolerances and assembly instructions.
Photorealistic Rendering & Animations: For use in presentations, pitch decks, and crowdfunding campaigns.
Documentation Package: Comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and electronic schematics, including assembly workflow.
