MODFLOW Contaminant Transport Modelling
Budget: €12 – €18 EUR
I need a complete MODFLOW set-up that tracks contaminant transport through a semi-confined aquifer so I can better characterise the system’s behaviour. The end goal is a calibrated flow model (MODFLOW) coupled with an appropriate transport package such as MT3DMS or RT3D that shows how the plume moves under current and projected conditions.
You will organise the conceptual model, translate it into a numerical grid, assign hydraulic parameters, run steady-state and transient simulations, and iterate until the match between observed and simulated heads and concentrations is defensible for aquifer-characterisation work. Please document every assumption, boundary condition, and calibration step so that I can readily reproduce or modify the model later.
Deliverables
• All MODFLOW/transport input and output files ready to run
• A brief technical memo (PDF) explaining set-up, calibration statistics, and key findings
• Screenshots or GIS-readable rasters of heads and concentration plumes for agreed stress periods
If you have recent experience coupling MODFLOW with MT3DMS or similar packages for semi-confined systems, your insight will be highly valuable.
