Large Plastic Fresnel Lens -- 2
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I need a custom-built Fresnel lens, more than two metres across, expressly for concentrating solar energy. Plastic is my chosen substrate because of its weight, cost and ease of shaping compared with glass or acrylic, so the design and fabrication plan must embrace that from the outset.
I will provide the target focal length and mounting dimensions once we open the project; what I need from you is a full, ready-to-manufacture package that turns those numbers into a finished lens. That includes:
• Optical design files showing groove geometry and pitch optimised for maximum solar concentration efficiency
• Mechanical drawings that account for thermal expansion and the practicalities of handling a sheet this large
• Material specification and sourcing guidance for UV-stable, outdoor-rated plastic
• A production method proposal—whether CNC machining, injection-compression moulding, or another viable approach—that delivers tight tolerances across the full diameter
• Quality-control checkpoints and acceptance criteria (surface roughness, concentricity, transmission rate, focal accuracy)
Once the design package is approved, I would like you to arrange or manage a single prototype run and organise insured delivery to my workshop.
Please let me know your relevant experience with large-format optics or solar concentrators, which design tools you intend to use (Zemax, Code V, SolidWorks, etc.), and an estimated timeline from concept to shipped prototype.
