Large PVC Event Tent Design

Job ID: 40144962

Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD

I already have the overall geometry and load criteria for a tension‐style event tent that will cover more than 500 m²; what I need now is a structural engineer who can convert those specs into a complete, fabrication-ready package. The membrane will be PVC-coated fabric, so please make sure your patterning approach addresses biaxial stretch, compensation factors and welding allowances specific to that material. Attached are examples of the type of tent we need designed, specs will vary.

Here is what I am expecting from you:

• Engineering analysis and verifiable calcs that demonstrate the structure meets wind, rain and crowd-loading requirements for public assembly use.
• Shop-ready cutting patterns (DXF or similar) with corner marks, seam overlaps and clear weld instructions.
• A concise set of steel or aluminum component drawings for masts, edge beams and anchorage, coordinated with the fabric patterns.
• A brief installation guide that ties the drawings together.

I can supply the initial 3D model, ground conditions, design loads and any local code references you need. If you work in Rhino/Grasshopper, AutoCAD or similar patterning tools such as Form-Finder or Easy, please mention it so I can align file formats early.

Deliverables are accepted once:
1. Structural calcs are stamped (or ready for review) and match the geometry provided.
2. All pattern files nest without collision and the overall membrane size stays within the tolerance envelope I will share.
3. Connection details are fully coordinated between fabric and frame.

If this scope fits your expertise in tension-membrane engineering, I look forward to seeing how you would approach it and a realistic turnaround time.
