Redesign of Wall-Mount Bracket System for Inverter and Battery
I am looking for an experienced mechanical design freelancer with strong knowledge of sheet metal product design, cost optimization, and manufacturable assembly systems.
We are currently designing a wall-mount bracket and hanging system for an inverter and battery setup. The current design was made by an engineer in China, but it uses too many metal tubes and too much structural material. I want to redesign this concept into a lighter, simpler, and more cost-effective system that is better suited for high-volume manufacturing.
What needs to be done
Redesign the existing bracket and alignment system for wall-mounted inverter and battery units
Replace the current tube-based structure with stamped / formed sheet metal parts
Design the parts so they can be connected using pop rivets or similar efficient assembly methods
Reduce material usage, weight, and production cost
Improve the design for large-scale manufacturing
Improve installer usability by replacing bolt-based fixing where possible with a faster click or snap-fit style installation system
Keep the alignment and positioning logic of the existing system, but simplify the total structure

Visual references and photos of the current concept
Clear design guidelines explaining how the concept should be changed
Feedback during the redesign process
What I am looking for
Strong experience in sheet metal bracket design
Understanding of stamped, bent, and formed metal parts
Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly
Ability to think practically about weight reduction, cost reduction, and installation speed
Preferably experience with click-fit, locking, or installer-friendly mounting systems
Ability to deliver manufacturable 3D design files and production-oriented thinking
Goal
The goal is to create a lighter, simpler, lower-cost bracket system that is easier and faster for installers to mount, while also being more suitable for industrial-scale production.
