Interior Design of a multipurpose cultural center_ Adaptive reuse of the Unfinished Church
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
Goal: Turn a listed, unfinished church into a reversible, flexible public platform for community uses (talks, cinema, performances, coworking, exhibitions) with zero wall anchoring, lightweight systems, and modular, movable furniture in a natural–minimal aesthetic.
Context & Concept
- Works on the theme of architectural leftovers → giving them back to the community through conviviality.
- Design principles: reversibility, lightness, temporality, kit-of-parts, daylight transparency (elements that let light and rain pass where needed).
Site Constraints
- Heritage shell; no drilling/anchoring in masonry.
- Seasonal use; need non-invasive weather/light control over openings.
What’s Already Done (assets you’ll receive)
- Plans (Ground & Mezzanine), initial space program and zoning.
- Reference palette direction (wood, galvanized steel, textiles; natural/minimal tone).
- Benchmark set (precedents for walkways and modularity).
What’s Missing / Scope for You
- Modular furniture “kit-of-parts” (indoor): few archetypes that reconfigure to change function (e.g., bench↔table, panel↔shelf, cubes on castors forming micro-pods).
- Output: system logic, sizes, joints/hardware, stacking, turning radii; 2–3 scenarios per item.
- Raised walkways/platforms: concept + detail (steel frames + bar grating and/or birch panels), no anchoring, neoprene pads, 1:10 node and parapet spec.
- Accessibility package: PMR routes, platform/ramps, sections with slopes and clearances.
- Light & power layout (reversible): task/ambient/accent lighting scenes for study / exhibition / talk; cable routing on freestanding trusses.
- Soft acoustics strategy: mobile curtains/panels; target RT for speech.
Detailing & deliverables:
- Drawings: plans/sections 1:100–1:50; details 1:10; exploded axos, 3D without rendering (I have the architectural model in obj).
Style & Materials
- Natural–minimal: birch ply (oiled), light solid woods, galvanized steel, textiles (linen/wool), cork/felt for acoustics.
- All systems knock-down / on castors, tool-light assembly, visible honest joints.
We will work together and discuss better the details.
