Industrial Concept to Prototype
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
I'm in the early stages of developing an industrial product. With a clear vision in mind but still at the conception phase, I'm seeking a skilled freelancer to bring this vision to life through comprehensive design, functional mechanics, and astute material selection.
This product is used in my day to day work. It fills a gap in what's available on the market at the moment from online stores and local trade stores. Initial prototypes will be trade tested by myself on site.
What I Need:
- **Design and Aesthetics:** A creative mind to develop a visually appealing yet functional design that adheres to industrial standards.
- **Functionality and Mechanics:** An innovative approach to ensure the product operates efficiently within industrial environments, overcoming common challenges.
- **Material Selection:** Guidance in choosing durable, cost-effective, and application-appropriate materials that will ensure longevity and reliability.
**Ideal Skills and Experience:**
- Proven experience in industrial product design and development.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software for design visualization.
- Knowledge in material science, particularly in industrial applications.
- Ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills to ensure my vision is accurately translated into the final product.
Location: I'm based in Adelaide, ideally you will be based close in order to reduce travel time in prototype shipments. I can be flexible for the right candidate though.
Prototypes: The ability to create prototypes easily with minimal cost and timeframes. Ideally you can do this at your own studio.
The Product:
Lateral Trade Knife
-- Trade knife used to cut foam and other building materials in small space, in a clean, fast and easy way.
-- The main function is cutting foam in between bricks and concrete surfaces, at a certain depth.
The product is a trade utility knife that has the ability to cut horizontally to the knife handle and parallel to the surface that has the building material on it.
In both a push and pull motion.
The ability to set a depth for cutting is also required.
A double sided blade is required for push/pull cutting, and a swivel for 45 degrees for hard to get to areas.
Ability to interchange blades once they have gone blunt.
Design of interchangeable blade is to be unique and patentable, to create another consumable product.
Blade housing must have hollow area within it so the blade can flow through the building material during the cutting process.
The width of the blade and housing is 8mm.
IP: IP Agreement must be signed prior to work beginning. Ownership of all work, designs, ideas and prototypes created in this project will remain with myself.
I have attached some photos of a prototype I made.
Thanks for your time.
