High-Resolution Wetland Topo Mapping
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I own roughly twenty acres on the Escambia Bay side of 1313 Pearson Road in Milton, Florida. About five acres is thick, wooded upland; the remaining salt-marsh often stands in an inch of groundwater. Before I move on to engineering and permits, I need a desktop-only topographic study built entirely from the best free, public data you can source—no new drone or LiDAR flights.
Here’s what I’m after:
• A high-resolution digital elevation model and contour set (≈1 m intervals or tighter if the raw data allow).
• Wetland delineation shapefiles suitable for a jurisdictional review.
• Hydrologic products—flow direction, accumulation, and any depression analyses—to show how water moves across the tract.
• Clear, print-ready maps (PDF/GeoTIFF) and the full GIS project package (ESRI or QGIS) with all layers, metadata, and processing notes.
Pull from whatever authoritative repositories make sense—USGS 3DEP, NOAA coastal models, state or county GIS servers, etc.—but document sources and vertical datums so the results stand up to a surveyor’s eye. Accuracy should match the published RMSE of the datasets you choose; please spell that out in your report.
If you’re comfortable wrangling large DEM tiles, marsh classifications, and hydrology tools in ArcGIS, QGIS, GRASS, or similar, I’d love to see your plan, timeline, and a quick example of comparable work.
