Furnace Models with Camera Field of Views
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
We are looking for outside support to create 3D furnace models that we use to analyze the field of view (FoV) of thermal imaging cameras installed in the furnace walls. The analysis is then the basis for deciding where to position cameras, how many to install, and for the final installation drawings.
The furnaces typically have simple geometries, although they can be complex when considering:
- Internal features such as refractory, tubes, and burners.
- External features such as structural steel, walkways, peep doors, and pipework.
Cameras are designed with borescope lenses to penetrate furnace walls and they come with a range of viewing angles, meaning the CAD engineer should have some experience with optics and imaging basics, i.e. spatial resolution. For example, a camera with a given pixel resolution and viewing angle may produce a scene that covers the required area but without the required resolution to produce accurate temperature data and good image clarity.
The first project would be a small one as a trial of the concept of outsourcing, but we conduct around 40-50 of these studies per year which we can explore outsourcing if the concept works. Any freelancer would be required to agree to an NDA based on the confidentiality of our client's documentation.
