Freelance Product Design Engineer Needed

We are seeking a qualified Freelance Product Design Engineer to support our product development initiatives on a temporary, project-based basis. The role includes working on fire & safety devices (such as smoke detectors) and packaging/bottle design projects.

This position is strictly on-site as required. The designer must be able to visit our Dwarka, New Delhi location whenever work is assigned, including the possibility of 2–3 consecutive days of on-site involvement depending on project needs. Work will be allocated only when required; this is not a daily role.

Develop detailed product designs and concepts for fire & safety products

Create 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings using SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD.

Participate in on-site reviews, design iterations, and discussions with the internal team.

Conduct design analysis to ensure manufacturability, safety, and compliance with standards.

Support prototype development, testing, and refinement.

Provide recommendations on materials, manufacturing processes, and design optimization.

Requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or related fields.

Minimum 3+ years of experience in product/mechanical design.

Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Must be available for on-site work in Dwarka, Delhi, whenever required (no remote option).

Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping.

Familiarity with fire & safety product design or consumer product design.

Knowledge of standards, compliance, and sustainable design practices.

Engagement Terms & Compensation

Freelance / Temporary engagement

Work assigned only when necessary, not daily

On-site presence required for reviews, testing, and collaboration

On-site sessions may require 2–3 continuous days, depending on project stage

Compensation will be determined based on the designer’s capability and the complexity of the design work involved
