Floating Pontoon Structural Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a full structural study for a reinforced-concrete floating pontoon that will operate in saltwater. The scope covers both the engineering calculations and all accompanying drawings so I can move straight to fabrication and class approval.
Key objectives
• Verify buoyancy, global stability and freeboard under live loads.
• Design the reinforced-concrete hull, internal stiffeners and connection points to withstand wave, current and mooring forces typical of a coastal saltwater site.
• Check durability for a marine environment (chloride attack, crack control, concrete cover, suitable rebar grades, cathodic protection if required).
Required deliverables
1. Calculation report (PDF) with clear references to Eurocode/PIANC or equivalent maritime guidelines, including:
– hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analyses,
– load combinations, fatigue checks and serviceability limits,
– reinforcement schedules and bar bending tables.
2. Drawings package in DWG and PDF:
– plan views,
– section views,
– elevation views, all fully dimensioned with title blocks and revision tables.
3. Brief construction notes covering concrete mix, curing, joint sealing and suggested mooring hardware locations.
I can supply the preliminary dimensions and a reference pontoon we would like to emulate. Please confirm your preferred analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD, ANSYS) and turnaround time when you respond.
