3D FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

The objective of Phase I is to build a basic 3D model and perform a finite analysis to develop a solid theory of how a rotational force in the hub is transform into a rotational force on the rim considering that the spokes are flexible and have an interface with the hub that is not fixed (i.e., can rotate). As important is to determine how efficient or inefficient is the traditional design of spoked wheels in the transfer of power from the hub to the wheel.
