FEA / Hydrostatic Pressure Analysis – Mechanical Engineer Needed
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to perform finite element analysis (FEA) and hydrostatic pressure testing on a plastic component manufactured from POM or glass-filled POM. The scope of work includes setting up and running simulations in SolidWorks 2025 to evaluate structural performance under internal pressure, identify stress concentrations, and assess overall durability. The analysis should include von Mises stress results, deformation behavior, and safety factor calculations, along with a clear explanation of the findings.
The selected engineer will be responsible for preparing a professional engineering report that documents the modeling assumptions, material properties used, boundary conditions, and simulation results. Experience with polymer materials and pressure-loaded components is required, and familiarity with plumbing or fluid-handling components is strongly preferred. Deliverables should include a comprehensive PDF report, supporting images or plots, and any relevant simulation files if applicable.
This project is expected to take approximately one to two weeks to complete. When applying, please include examples of similar work, the software tools you use, and your estimated timeline and cost for the project.
