Expert 3D Jewelry CAD Modeler Needed
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
We are seeking an experienced 3D jewelry CAD modeler to join our team for daily collaboration on high-end jewelry designs. The ideal candidate will specialize in precision modifications for rings, with expertise in gold and diamond settings.
? Key Responsibilities:
✅ Advanced CAD Modeling:
Create production-ready STL files from sketches/concepts or modify existing designs.
Optimize models for casting, 3D printing, and manufacturing (avoiding undercuts, ensuring wall thickness, etc.).
Software proficiency in RhinoGold, Matrix, Blender, or ZBrush is mandatory.
✅ Precision Modifications:
Resize rings (EU sizing) with proportional shank adjustments.
Swap gemstones (prong, bezel, pave) and adjust settings without distorting designs.
Adapt center stones and side stones while preserving structural integrity.
Export files in STL, DXF, OBJ for manufacturing.
✅ Technical Documentation:
Generate tech packs (dimensions, materials, stone counts, etc.).
Provide editable CAD files for future revisions.
? Requirements:
Proven experience in fine jewelry CAD, especially with gold and diamonds.
Keen eye for proportions, ergonomics, and manufacturability.
Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Fluent in English (written communication for specs).
? Test Project (Required for Hiring):
To evaluate your skills, we’re attaching three STL files with the following modifications needed:
Ring #1:
Resize to EU 49.
Modify center setting for a 4.77mm (diameter) × 2.90mm (depth) diamond.
Preserve pave stones: 1.60mm, 1.30mm, 1.20mm, 1.10mm, 0.7mm.
Maintain dimensions: 2.10mm width, 1.50mm thickness.
Ring #2:
Resize to EU 56.
Set center stone to 6.00mm × 3.51mm.
Keep side stones: 2.00mm, 1.80mm, 1.40mm, 1.30mm, 1.20mm.
Final dimensions: 1.50mm width, 1.70mm thickness.
Ring #3:
Resize to EU 51.
Adjust center for a 4.00mm stone (depth proportional).
Ensure final dimensions: 1.70mm width, 1.35mm thickness.
Deliverables: Edited STL files + brief summary of adjustments made.
? Long-Term Opportunity:
This is a long-term, daily collaboration for the right candidate. Please include in your proposal:
Portfolio (jewelry CAD examples, especially rings).
Estimated time/cost for the test project.
Your preferred software and availability.
Note: Only applicants who complete the test project will be considered for ongoing work.
