30 km Drone Food Delivery
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
I want to set up a complete drone-based service that lifts freshly prepared food and beverages from a single centralized kitchen and places each order right at the customer’s doorstep within a 30 km radius.
Scope of work
• Specify or select multirotor drones capable of carrying typical meal-size payloads, maintaining temperature, and completing 60 km round-trip flights with reserves.
• Design the cargo bay or attachable box so meals stay upright and spill-free during flight and winch or landing-leg solutions that let the aircraft release the package safely on the doorstep without human contact.
• Build or integrate the end-to-end software stack: order intake, kitchen dispatch, route optimisation, live tracking, customer notifications, and post-delivery confirmation. APIs to popular food-ordering platforms are a plus.
• Map safe corridors, geofence no-fly areas, and embed real-time obstacle avoidance so the drones remain compliant with local aviation rules.
• Develop short SOPs for kitchen staff (loading), flight ops (pre-flight checks, battery swap), and customer support.
• Run test flights that demonstrate reliable doorstep landings and document performance metrics (flight time, delivery accuracy, battery use).
Acceptance criteria
1. At least five successful doorstep deliveries in a controlled pilot.
2. Video proof and telemetry logs for each flight.
3. Full documentation: hardware list, CAD/3-D files for mounts or boxes, source code or configuration files, and operational manuals.
Tools and tech are flexible—open-source autopilot stacks (ArduPilot, PX4), DJI enterprise models, or custom-built frames are all acceptable if they meet the range and safety requirements.
