# Final Mechanical Refinement & Prototype Validation

I already have a complete CAD design for a premium automatic magnetic dog collar locking mechanism.

The main engineering work has already been completed, so this is **NOT** a redesign project. I'm looking for someone with strong mechanical design experience to perform the final refinements and validate the design with a real printed prototype.

I will provide all CAD files created by my current engineer, along with photos/videos of the printed prototype and the issues I found.

## Current Issues

* The button does not protrude enough and is difficult to press comfortably.
* The locking mechanism works, but I want it to be significantly stronger.
* Once locked, it should not accidentally release under very high pulling force.
* The locking pin and locking geometry may need small refinements (engagement depth, locking faces, angles, width, etc.) to maximize strength.
* The enclosure fit and tolerances should be improved so both halves align perfectly with almost invisible gaps when assembled.
* The snap-fit should assemble smoothly without feeling like the enclosure might break.
* The design also includes magnets intended to help guide the two halves together and improve self-alignment during closing. Please evaluate whether they should be included in the final design or if the mechanism would perform better without them. I value your engineering judgment.
* Overall, I want the mechanism to feel premium, precise, smooth, and solid.

## What I Need

* Review the supplied CAD files.
* Make only the necessary refinements.
* Print the updated prototype (standard FDM printing is completely fine).
* Assemble the mechanism with the required hardware, including springs and magnets if needed.
* Verify that everything works correctly.
* Record a short video showing:

* Button operation.
* Locking and unlocking.
* Pull test demonstrating that the lock remains secure under heavy force.
* Overall assembly quality.
* Send me the updated CAD files (only if modifications were made).

## Goal

When the two parts are connected, they should align perfectly with minimal visible gaps, produce a satisfying solid **"click"**, remain securely locked under heavy pulling force, and only release when the button is intentionally pressed.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys refining mechanisms and paying attention to small engineering details.

**Budget:** Around **$20 USD**, since the design is already completed and this stage focuses on refinement, testing, and validation.

If everything goes well, there will be additional paid work afterward, including exterior styling, manufacturing optimization, and preparation for production.
