Develop Customizable 3D Fence Visualization Tool
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 AUD
Three.js / WebGL Developer Needed to Build 3D Fence Configurator (Web-Based Viewer)
Project:
We are a fencing company looking to build a web-based 3D Fence Configurator — a simple, fast, realistic 3D tool that lets users visualize different fence materials around their property.
Goal:
When a visitor clicks “See My Fence in 3D” on our website:
They choose a layout (Front, Side, or Back view).
They pick a fence material (Timber, Colorbond, Composite, Slats).
The 3D fence updates instantly.
They can take a screenshot and request a quote (image + options sent to us).
Deliverables
1. Embeddable Widget (Web App)
Works inside our website via iframe or JS snippet.
Must be mobile responsive, smooth, and fast-loading (<20MB total).
No external installs — runs in browser.
2. Material + Layout Options (via JSON or simple admin)
Each fence material has texture, color, and name.
Must be easy for us to update (through a JSON file or Airtable).
3. Screenshot + Quote Export
“Save My Fence” button that:
Takes a screenshot of the current 3D view.
Captures user’s selections (material, layout).
Sends to our backend (Airtable, Google Sheet, or webhook).
4. Hosting / Integration Support
You provide simple embed code and integration instructions for our website (Webflow or similar).
Viewer should host on our server or a lightweight platform (Vercel, Netlify, etc.).
Tech Requirements
Frontend: Three.js or Babylon.js
Backend: None or minimal (can use Airtable/Make/Zapier for quote capture)
Formats: GLB/GLTF models for fence assets
Performance: 60fps desktop, smooth on mobile
Upload Option: image upload (user uploads photo of yard as backdrop)
Assets
We’ll provide:
Fence reference photos & dimensions
Material texture samples
Brand logo & colors
You may help optimize or create lightweight 3D models if needed (budget includes this).
Delivery: 3–4 weeks
We’ll pay in milestones (Prototype → Full Build → Testing → Final Delivery).
Performance, mobile responsiveness, and clean code are non-negotiable.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience building 3D configurators or visualizers (please include live links).
Strong skills in Three.js / WebGL / GLTF optimization.
Can handle both the 3D side (models/textures) and the web side (embed/export).
Communicates clearly in English + can do short video calls for milestones.
Bonus: Experience integrating with Airtable or Zapier.
Examples of What We Mean
Car or furniture configurators (e.g. Tesla car builder, IKEA 3D planner).
Product visualizers with color/material switching.
To Apply:
Please include:
Links to any live 3D configurators you’ve built (not just GitHub).
Your estimate of time and cost to deliver this project.
A short paragraph explaining how you’ll ensure it loads fast on mobile.
Whether you can do a paid test task (4–6 hours) — basic fence viewer with material switch.
