Detailed Robot UV Unwrap
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have a large-scale robot that was built in Maya and now needs a meticulous UV pass. The mesh is already final; what I’m missing is a clean, highly detailed unwrap that will hold up under close-up inspection and hero lighting.
Scope of work
• Open the Maya file and create a non-overlapping UV layout for every piece of the robot.
• Preserve consistent texel density across armor plates, joints, cables, and internal mechanics.
• Keep distortion to an absolute minimum; seams should be placed logically so they hide well when textured.
• Organize shells by material region and, where practical, lay them out in UDIM tiles so further texturing stays tidy.
• Deliver a Maya scene (or FBX) with the updated UVs, plus a quick checker map screenshot that shows even spacing.
Acceptance criteria
• No stretching when a 1-pixel checker is applied.
• All shells named or grouped clearly for easy selection.
• The file opens with no missing references or plugin dependencies.
Please mention your experience with Maya’s UV Toolkit, Unfold3D, or similar plugins and let me know your estimated turnaround time.
