Design of a Passive Robotic Arm with 6 DOF for Human Motion Capture

Job ID: 39016894

Budget: $50 – $0 USD

We are developing an innovative **6 Degrees of Freedom (DOF) passive robotic arm** for capturing human motion with high precision. The project aims to design a lightweight, ergonomic, and modular robotic arm equipped with sensors (e.g., encoders, IMUs) to measure and record human movements accurately. The arm will be primarily used for research and development in biomechanics and related fields.

To achieve our goals, we are seeking the expertise of **two skilled professionals**:

1. **Mechanical Engineer:**
- Expertise in robotic arm design, kinematics, and dynamics.
- Knowledge of sensor integration (e.g., encoders, motion capture sensors).
- Ability to analyze and optimize the mechanical structure for precision and durability.

2. **CAD Designer:**
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar.
- Experience in creating detailed mechanical designs, including joints, linkages, and housing for electronics.
- Capability to produce manufacturing-ready designs and perform necessary revisions.

**Key Deliverables:**
- A complete mechanical design of the passive robotic arm with 6 DOF.
- CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Recommendations for sensor placement and integration.
- Structural analysis and design optimization.

**Requirements:**
- Prior experience with robotic arm design or motion capture systems is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Availability for online consultations and feedback during the project.

**Timeline:** Flexible, with milestones to ensure steady progress.
