Custom 8' Round Cedar Door
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
A custom 8-foot round exterior door is needed for my property in Missouri. The slab has to be cedar, built hollow-core and packed solid with rigid foam-board insulation so it delivers real thermal performance without excessive weight. I want a completely plain face—no carvings, glass inserts, or other ornamentation—just tight, clean joinery that shows off the cedar grain. We will provide custom iron millwork design. Hinges are optional but appreciated.
Key construction notes
• True 8' diameter, tolerance within ⅛" for a consistent reveal in the jamb.
• Cedar faces must be kiln-dried and smoothly sanded, ready for paint.
• Continuous foam-board core, securely bonded to the skins, with internal blocking where hinges, latch, and deadbolt will mount.
• Prep the slab for exterior hardware (standard 2 ⅜" or 2 ¾" back-set); a matching cedar jamb with weather-seal kerfs is preferred but optional if you can advise on compatibility.
• The finished door has to ship safely to Missouri without warping or damage; include your crating approach and freight method.
