Project Overview:
Design and draft / draw a wall-mounted floating closet featuring wooden sliding doors, tailored to accommodate hanging garments and adjustable shelving for shoes and accessories.

Width: 83 inches
Height: 101 inches
Depth: ~22 inches. The goal is to cut a 4x8 sheet of plywood in half as the basic box sides
Materials Needed:
Lumber and Panels:
Plywood Sheets (4x8 feet, ¾ inch thick): 4 sheets
Side Panels: 2 pieces at 96" x 22"
Top and Bottom Panels: 2 pieces at 83" x 22"
Shelves: 4 pieces at 39.5" x 21.5" (adjust quantity as needed)
Hardwood for Face Frame:
1x2 inch Boards: Approximately 30 linear feet
Sliding Doors:
Solid Wood Panels or Hollow Core Veneer Doors: Sized to fit the closet opening
Sliding Door Hardware Kit: Top-hung system preferred

Adjustable Shelf Pegs: 16 pieces
Wood Screws: 1 ¼ inch and 2 ½ inch sizes

From Hardwood Boards:
Vertical Face Frame Stiles: 2 pieces at 96" x 1.5"
Horizontal Face Frame Rails: 3 pieces at 83" x 1.5"
Assembly Instructions:
Prepare the Panels:
Cut the plywood sheets to the specified dimensions.
Sand all cut edges to remove splinters.
Construct the Main Box:
Attach side panels to the bottom panel using wood glue and 1 ¼ inch screws.
Secure the top panel to the side panels similarly.
Install the Back Panel (Optional):
Attach the back panel to the rear of the assembly for added stability.
Create Adjustable Shelf Supports:
Mark and drill holes on the inner faces of the side panels for shelf pegs.
Assemble the Face Frame:
Construct the face frame using hardwood boards and attach it to the front of the main box.
Install Shelves:
Insert shelf pegs at desired heights and place shelves accordingly.
Mount the Closet:
Use a stud finder to locate wall studs.
Secure the closet to the wall using appropriate mounting hardware.
Attach Sliding Doors:
Install the sliding door hardware as per the manufacturer's instructions.
Hang the wooden sliding doors, ensuring smooth operation.
Finishing Touches:
Apply edge banding to exposed plywood edges.
Sand the entire assembly and apply paint or stain as desired.
