Creating an armored human character with swappable armor sets
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am looking for someone to make a rigged 3d character that has many different armor sets where each piece of the armor can be turned on and off easily.
To get into a little more detail, I am working on a multiplayer game that will be using rotoscoped sprites of the 3d models (similar to how the old doom games used Claymation as reference for their sprites). There are three teams that all have distinctly different armor types, but their human shape and animations will all be the same, meaning that a single human rig with all the different armors would be the most efficient way for me to render and then rotoscope the variety of armor combinations.
I will be animating and rendering the character in Maya, so as long as the rig and armor swapping work when imported to Maya, I don't have a preference for what software is used to model and rig the character.
The character and their armors are going to be relatively simple, and since they are going to be rotoscoped, textures and fine details are not as necessary. The three team's armor types will be themed after squares, triangles, and circles. The square armors are bulky and rigid, the tringle armors are pointy and sleek, and the circle armors are smooth and slim.
I want to start with one armor set for each team, and after that I would like to work with you on making a variety of new armor pieces that can be swapped in and out for more unique customization.
I would be happy to go into more detail with you and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to working with you!
