Create STEP Files from Image
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I am looking for a freelancer who can create multiple STEP files from a 2D non-technical image. This will be used to create multiple 3D models to test for fitment. The large file will need to be broken up into smaller STEP files so they can individually fit on the 3D Print bed. The printing area is 10'x10"x10". I will nest the files on the 3D print bed, so all you need to do is make sure that each individual flange STEP file you create will fit in that print bed area. If any of the 4 smaller files do not fit on the 10"x10"x10" area, please split one or more of them up so they will fit on the print bed. Create more flange files until they all will individually fit on the print bed, but please do the minimum amount of individual files that will fit.
The height of the large STEP file needs to be 10.875" and the width is 20.0". The thickness of the STEP file needs to be 0.125".
THE UPPER OUTER PERIMETER OF THE STEP FILE NEEDS TO EXACTLY MATCH THE OUTER PERIMETER OF THE IMAGE. AGAIN, THE UPPER OUTER PERIMETER MUST EXACTLY MATCH THE IMAGE.
Once the large STEP file is created, we then need to create smaller perimeter flange STEP files that are 1.00" wide. All of the smaller STEP files need to again exactly match the top perimeter as shown in the attached crude hand drawn flanges.
At the end of your task, you need to submit the large STEP file, and all of the individual STEP files that comprise the flange sections.
The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Familiar with creating 3D models from 2D images
- Knowledgeable in file formats and conversions, specifically STEP file format
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recreating the image in 3D
- Ability to communicate effectively and ask clarifying questions if needed
