CAD Designer for Unique No-Drill Bracket
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Custom Adjustable Mounting Bracket (CAD Design) – Open Slot, No Drilling, Wall-Mounted Memorial Accessories
I am looking for a mechanical / product designer (CAD) to design a simple but precise stainless steel mounting bracket for memorial accessories (vases, candle holders, LED frames) used on columbarium urn stones.
This is not decorative design, but a functional, respectful, and safe mechanical solution.
Core Problem
Most columbarium niches have existing mounting bolts with nuts (usually one at the top and one at the bottom).
These bolts must NOT be removed, for safety, respect, and risk of stone breakage.
I want to attach accessories without drilling, without glue, and without removing any nuts.
Project Description
I am looking for an experienced mechanical / CAD designer to design a small adjustable mounting bracket for wall-mounted products such as:
Memorial vases
Candle holders / lanterns
Small decorative holders
This is not a decorative render project — I need a functional, manufacturable design.
Key Functional Requirements (VERY IMPORTANT)
1. Open Slot System (Critical)
The mounting plate must have a fully open vertical slot
The slot must be open at the bottom, not a closed hole or keyhole
The product must slide over an existing wall nut/bolt
No loosening or removing of the wall nut is allowed
This avoids:
Stone damage
Risk of cracking memorial stones
Exposure of what is behind the stone
The product slides down over the nut → nut is tightened → product is locked.
2. Adjustable Height
The open slot allows vertical adjustment (a few centimeters up/down)
Used to fine-tune height alignment of the vase / candle holder
3. Distance From the Wall
The bracket must hold the product a few centimeters away from the wall
This is important because:
Stone can crack from heat
Candles or lanterns may get warm
A straight spacer or angled offset is acceptable
(no curved shapes required)
4. Bracket Design
Simple bent metal part (L-shape / Z-shape / folded plate)
Thin but strong (e.g. stainless steel or coated steel)
Designed for powder coating (black / dark finish)
Compact and discreet — the bracket should be as small as possible
Not visually dominant
5. No Drilling
The design must work with existing wall bolts
Absolutely no additional drilling in stone or wall
Deliverables
CAD files (STEP / DXF / DWG preferred)
Optional: simple technical drawings with dimensions
Design must be manufacturing-ready
Nice to Have
Suggestions for material thickness
Suggestions for load safety
Simple exploded view
Important Notes
I have reference images and rough sketches available
I am open to small design improvements, but the open-bottom slot concept is mandatory
Experience with mechanical brackets, mounting systems, or architectural hardware is a big plus
Who I’m Looking For
Mechanical / CAD designer
Industrial product designer
Someone who understands real-world mounting constraints, not just visuals
