2D/3D Building Generator Development
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking developer to build a 2D/3D building generator based on user-defined construction parameters and plot boundary data. The generator should transform rules (which we will provide) into detailed, compliant architectural volumes and visual outputs.
This is not a typical modeling tool—we are developing a smart system that interprets zoning and spatial rules to automatically generate maximum possible building envelopes. The result should be exportable in industry-standard formats (PDF, DXF, IFC, CSV, XLSX etc ).
You do not need knowledge of construction law—we provide all logic.
You do not need to design buildings—just implement the rule-based engine.
Responsibilities:
Develop a rule-based generator that creates 2D plans and 3D volumes from plot boundaries and zoning parameters
Implement a system that accepts inputs such as setbacks, height limits, floor count, roof type, etc.
Output 2D/3D models in standard formats: PDF, DXF, IFC, CSV, XLSX etc (BIM compatibility is a plus)
Ensure high performance and correct geometry even for edge cases
Collaborate with the client (a civil engineer) to iterate and improve logic
Maintain clean, well-documented code for future scaling and updates
Optional: Support future AI-based features (compliance checks, optimization, etc.)
Required Skills:
Strong experience with geometry processing and parametric modeling
Proficiency in 2D/3D rendering libraries or engines (Three.js, Babylon.js, Unity, etc.)
Experience with CAD/BIM export formats (especially DXF, PDF, and optionally IFC, CSV)
Solid programming knowledge (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C#, or similar)
Ability to structure logic-based or constraint-driven systems
Clean architecture and coding practices
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with GIS data or terrain handling
Experience integrating with CAD software or BIM tools
Background in procedural generation or computational design
AI/ML knowledge (for later stages of the project)
What We Provide:
All zoning/building parameters
Full rule logic and spatial constraints
Engineering guidance and workflow specification
Use-case definitions and project scope
How to Apply:
Please submit your portfolio, a brief description of similar projects, and your preferred tech stack. Also include your estimated timeline and hourly or fixed rate.
We’re excited to build something that simplifies and modernizes early-stage architectural planning—and we’d love to have you onboard.
