Area 51 inspired Dungeon Crawler Game
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Need a developer to create a 3D FPS Dungeon Crawler inspired by Area 51. For graphics, I'm looking at doing an old school PS1/N64 low-poly style. The game has to be terrifying yet entertaining to play with friends similar to games like Lethal Company or Content Warning. This would be classified as an online coop game that allows up to 4 players per lobby.
The environment would be an interior/inside setting only so no exterior is needed unless we go a different route. The goal of the game is to explore an abandoned facility infested with various alien monsters. This "4-Player" team would have to make it as far as they possibly can by killing monsters, obtaining loot, and most importantly solving puzzles and challenges to proceed through various levels. It's up to debate whether these "levels" should be more of a procedural style where every level is completely unique and the game is practically infinite in size OR a more hand-crafted 10-20 levels.
If a player in the party dies they can no longer respawn. Its up to the rest of the team to make it as far as they possibly can without dying. Once everyone is dead, the game will mark down how far they made it giving them a constant goal of beating their past score. Every level will get significantly harder than the last with tough enemies, difficult challenges, and larger more confusing levels to navigate.
This game is most likely going to be a family friendly game with horror mixed in so pretty much anyone can play it. Now, to quickly mention... If we decide to go the hand-crafted way then making it to the end would be their goal and TIME would be what is calculated rather than distance. If we go the procedural route it could get stale after a while since every level will have the same feel where as a hand crafted design could lead to a more creative and unique feel. Its also up to debate whether this should be a Roblox game or a Unity/Unreal Engine title for steam. Let me know what you think...
Rules:
1. Developer must be at least 18 years of age.
2. The developer must be able to provide a valid portfolio with previous works correlating with 3D game design (meaning not just mobile games and 2D platformers).
3. Must be from an English speaking country such as the United States, United Kingdom, etc. This is so we can work around time zones and obviously any language barriers.
4. If the developer is a part of a team, having communication through a group chat on freelancer.com is at the up most importance. The ability to communicate with the team to plan, organize, and manage is key to developing pretty much any project to this extent.
5. Payments will only be received through freelancer.com to prevent any scam or misleading sales.
6. Please have at least 5 years of experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, Ro-Lua, or the equivalent.
7. If the seller's page isn't related to game development or developing/coding in general it will be ignored. We only want someone who's dedicated to this style of entertainment.
(I'll also include photos matching the style of game that we'll be mimicking as well as the link to a game that loosely inspired this concept. Keep in mind, this game is NOT good just like the concept not the execution...)
