Antebellum Heptagonal Custom Home Design
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I have the seed of a dream—a self-sketched idea for a heptagon-shaped residence that borrows its grace from 19th-century U.S. Southern Antebellum estates—yet I’m still at the very first concept stage. I now need an experienced residential architect who can translate these rough imaginings into a fully build-ready, structurally sound package.
Here’s the vision you’d be shaping with me:
• Geometry & layout
A seven-sided footprint consisting to a trapezoidal main structure and properly oriented out-buildings. Needs a central open floor plan that flows naturally from room to room, plus a discreet “poorhouse” wing that doubles as guest quarters.
• Style & detailing
Classic Antebellum proportions, columned porches, and generous verandas, reinterpreted for today’s codes without losing the period charm.
• Modern comforts
Seamless smart-home technology throughout—lighting, climate, security—integrated cleanly into the historic aesthetic.
Your task is to turn these concepts into tangible architectural documents: preliminary schematics, refined floor plans, exterior elevations, and the structural framework required for permitting and future construction. Any preferred tool—Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or comparable—is fine so long as the output is clear, precise, and ready for the next engineering phase.
If you enjoy marrying bold geometry with heritage character and modern tech, let’s explore how we can bring this unique Southern heptagon to life.
