Aluminium Extrusion Conveyor Cover Design

Job ID: 39901981

Budget: $25 – $50 AUD

I’m looking for a mechanical designer who can turn my idea for an aluminium-extrusion enclosure into a practical cover for an existing conveyor belt. The cover must be built from metal, preferably standard T-slot aluminium profiles, and should fully shield the conveyor while remaining easy to remove for maintenance.

What I’ll provide
• Overall conveyor dimensions, mounting points, and a few photos of the current setup.

What I need back
• A fully parametric 3D CAD model of the enclosure.
• Clear manufacturing drawings with cut lists for the extrusions, fasteners, and sheet panels.
• Basic assembly instructions or an exploded view so my shop crew can put it together without guesswork.

Key considerations
• Keep the frame light yet rigid; avoid over-engineering.
• All fasteners must be accessible from the outside—no hidden hardware.
• Allow at least 10 mm clearance around moving parts of the belt.
• Design for easy scalability; if the conveyor length changes, I should only have to adjust a few parameters.

Preferred tools are SolidWorks, Inventor, or Fusion 360, but STEP files are fine if you work in another package. A quick call or chat to confirm the constraints is welcome before you begin modeling. Once approved, I’ll move straight to fabrication, so accuracy is critical.
