2D CAD to Structural STEP Model - 02/10/2025 13:07 EDT
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I need a clean, analysis-ready STEP model generated directly from my existing 2D AutoCAD drawings. The file will be used for structural analysis, so accuracy takes priority over visual polish.
Scope of work
• Turn the entire 2D steel layout into a true 3-D representation.
• Follow the call-outs on my drawings and use standard steel shapes wherever they appear.
• Include every material thickness I note, plus bolt holes wherever the diameter is ½-inch or larger.
• Deliver one .stp file that opens error-free in common FEA packages (ANSYS, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.).
Acceptance
The model must import without healing in SolidWorks or Inventor, report the correct mass when densities are applied, and show all hole locations at the right coordinates.
If you are comfortable translating 2D AutoCAD to precise, standards-compliant 3-D geometry, let’s get started—I’ll send the DWGs as soon as you accept the project.
