Ventriloquist Dummy Mechanism Design
Budget: $10 – $30 CAD
I’m printing a ventriloquist figure and now need the internal mechanics drafted so I can run a first test print. Everything will be printed in plastic, so please keep wall-thickness, tolerances, and support requirements in mind.
Key motions I need:
• Articulating shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints
• A mechanical mouth and separate moving jaw
• Raising/lowering eyebrows
• Blinking eyelids
• Eyes that pivot left-right
Scope for this initial phase is a clean, printable design set—think a basic blueprint I can iterate on. I’m flexible on the CAD package; use Fusion 360, Blender, Tinkercad, or whatever suits your workflow as long as the final deliverables include STL (and STEP if possible).
Deliverables:
1. 3D models for each mechanism, grouped logically for printing
2. A simple exploded view or short note explaining assembly and string/rod routing
3. A brief parts list of any off-the-shelf fasteners or elastic you assume
