PROJECT BRIEF

Sim Racing Streaming Background and OBS Overlay System

Project Overview
I am creating a sim racing YouTube and live streaming setup and require a high-quality digital background environment, along with OBS-compatible overlay elements.
I will then be placed in front with a green screen for the live stream.

The goal is to build an on brand (APEX - RaceToTheApex) clean, professional, and recognisable motorsport garage scene that supports:

YouTube (16:9)
Live streaming (OBS)
Short-form content (9:16 / Shorts)
I have limited skills but can use InDesign and Photoshop.

Core Concept

A modern sim racing and motorsport garage studio, featuring:
- Two integrated screens (left and right)
A framed “Poster of the Week” area (updated weekly)
Subtle motorsport props (helmet, tyres, tools)
Clean neon lighting (cyan / blue with pink accents)
- Logo present
Example attached from ChatGPT.
The scene should feel realistic and premium, not cluttered.
Main Background Requirement
- A high-resolution background image with no person included.
- This will be used behind me while streaming.

Key Rules
The centre area must be clean and slightly darker, as this is where I will sit.
Left and right screens should feel like real monitors within the environment.
The poster should be visible but not overpowering.

Screens
Screen 1 (Left)
Purpose: Gameplay display
Content must be blank or placeholder only
No baked-in gameplay

Screen 2 (Right) – Critical
This screen must support dynamic and editable content.
I’m not sure what it will display so I need to be able to edit but probably:
Subscribers
Likes
Targets (for example “Next goal”)
Progress bars
Occasional humour or stats

OBS Integration
The design must work with OBS (Open Broadcaster Software).
Preferred Option
Provide a browser source overlay (HTML/CSS or StreamElements compatible) so that:
Subscriber counts update automatically
Goals update live
Progress bars animate
Alternative Option
Provide a clean transparent PNG overlay frame designed so that text can be updated manually in OBS.

Poster Frame
Requirements:
- Must look like a physical framed poster on the wall
Easy to update weekly and drop in
- The poster area must be easy to replace.
- A flat rectangular area or a Photoshop smart object/template
I need to be able to drop in a new poster quickly each week without complex adjustments.

Visual Style
- Realistic garage or studio environment
- Slight cinematic feel
- Clean and modern, not cluttered
Colour Palette
- See logo attached
- Dark base (charcoal, black, industrial tones)
- Cyan or blue lighting for a technical feel
- Pink accents for highlights
Lighting
- Subtle practical lighting such as garage lights or LED strips
- Light glow from screens
- Poster may have a soft highlight
- Centre area should not be overlit

Camera and Composition
I will then sit central in frame, with the camera, slight angle rather than flat to create depth
Designed for 16:9 framing
Must also work for 9:16 vertical crop

Optional but Preferred
OBS-ready browser overlay (HTML/CSS)
Shorts Version (9:16)
A vertical version of the scene is required.
Layout should follow:
Gameplay at the top
Presenter in the middle
End Goal & Notes
The final result should be:
- A recognisable streaming environment
- A balance of professional motorsport and personality
- Clean enough for long-form content
- Distinct enough for Shorts and social clips
- Keep the composition clean and avoid overcrowding
- Usability is more important than adding excessive detail
- The design must work practically within OBS

Ideal Designer:
- Experience with streaming overlays and OBS
- Strong environment and compositing skills
- Understanding of gaming or motorsport visuals
