Progressive Die Design & Drawings

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

We are looking for an experienced Progressive Die Designer to develop complete tool designs for 3 sheet metal parts with a sheet thickness of 0.3mm. The project includes progressive die strip layout, 3D design, and 2D drawings for wirecut and CNC machining.

Project Scope:

Review provided 3D/2D part drawings (STEP or IGES files will be shared).

Design progressive die layout suitable for high-volume production.

Prepare tool assembly and detailed component drawings for manufacturing.

Create 2D drawings for wirecut, CNC machining, and EDM operations.

Optimize design for:

Material utilization

Accurate part forming and bending

Ease of assembly and maintenance

Deliverables:

Progressive die strip layout with pitch, stages, and cutting/forming sequence.

Complete 3D die design (SolidWorks / NX / CATIA preferred).

2D detailed drawings for:

Punches and dies (for wirecut & CNC)

Die plate details

Assembly drawing with BOM

PDF + native CAD files (DWG / SLDPRT / STEP / IGES).

Requirements:

Strong experience in progressive die design for thin sheet metal (≤0.5mm).

Solid understanding of blanking, piercing, bending, and forming operations.

Knowledge of tool clearances, radii, and tolerances for 0.3mm sheets.

Familiarity with die manufacturing processes like wirecut and CNC machining.

Ability to deliver production-ready designs.
