We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced full-stack developer or development team to build a sophisticated customer design platform. This platform will empower our customers to design and configure products in a 3D environment, save their creations, and publish them directly to a Shopify collection for purchase.
Project Overview
The goal is to create an intuitive and robust platform that bridges the gap between customer creativity and direct e-commerce sales. This will involve a seamless user experience from onboarding to product configuration, supported by a powerful 3D design tool and integrated with our Shopify store. A dedicated backend will manage product data and design assets.
Key Features & Requirements
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the following core components:
Customer Onboarding & Design Walkthrough:
An engaging and clear onboarding process for new users.
Guided walkthroughs within the 3D design customizer to assist customers in configuring products step-by-step.
3D Product Designer:
A highly interactive and user-friendly 3D customizer interface.
Ability to select base products and apply various design options (colors, textures, components, text, etc.) in a real-time 3D rendering environment.
Support for multiple product types and customizable parameters.
Visual feedback on design changes.
Locker Room Database:
A secure database for customers to save, manage, and revisit their customized product designs.
Each saved design should retain all configurable parameters and visual data.
API Syncing with Shopify Collection:
Robust API integration to seamlessly publish customer-designed products to a specified Shopify collection on our store.
This includes syncing product images (generated from the 3D design), descriptions, pricing (potentially dynamic based on configuration), and other relevant product data.
Ensure data consistency and error handling during synchronization.
Admin Backend (Product & Design Management):
An intuitive backend interface for administrators to:
Add new products and define their customizable parameters (e.g., base models, available colors, textures, component options).
Upload and manage 3D models and associated assets for product customization.
Set up design rules and constraints.
Admin Backend (File Download & Management):
A secure section within the backend where administrators can easily access and download all raw design files, 3D models, generated images, and other related assets for each customer design.
Required Expertise
We are looking for candidates with strong proficiency in:
Frontend: Expertise in building complex, interactive web applications. Experience with 3D rendering libraries/frameworks (e.g., Three.js, Babylon.js, PlayCanvas) is essential. Strong command of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
Backend: Solid experience in backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python/Django/Flask, Ruby on Rails, PHP/Laravel).
Database: Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Firebase/Firestore) for managing user data, designs, and product configurations.
API Integration: Proven track record of integrating with third-party APIs, specifically Shopify's API.
Cloud Platforms (Preferred): Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for hosting and scalability.
UI/UX: A keen eye for user experience and intuitive design.
Version Control: Proficiency with Git.
