I have a small sensor-based consumer-electronics PCB that needs a neat, functional plastic enclosure. You will receive the board outline, component heights, connector locations and a few reference photos; the job is to translate that information into a manufacturable 3D model.
Scope of work
• Model an exterior that matches the sensor’s use-case, leaving openings for the USB-C port, status LED and the sensing window.
• Integrate interior bosses, standoffs and snap-fit or screw pillars so the board sits securely without rattling.
• Wall thickness and draft angles should follow common injection-moulding guidelines, yet the file must also be suitable for quick FDM/SLA prototypes.
Deliverables
1. Native CAD file (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or STEP) with fully editable feature tree.
2. Production-ready STL for immediate 3D printing.
3. A short drawing or PDF that lists critical dimensions and recommended fasteners.
Acceptance criteria
• PCB drops in with zero interference.
• All ports and sensor areas align within ±0.2 mm.
• Enclosure closes flush and withstands at least three open/close cycles without stress marks.
Feel free to suggest subtle design tweaks for better ergonomics or easier tooling—function comes first, but a clean look is a bonus.
