IP65 Plastic Enclosure Design
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
I need a rugged yet attractive enclosure for a new electronic prototype. The housing must be molded in plastic, finished with a subtle textured surface, and—most importantly—sealed to an IP65 standard so dust and water splashes are never a worry in the field. I already have the internal PCB layout and mounting points; what I’m missing is a fully-engineered shell that drops straight into production.
Here’s how I see the work flowing:
• You turn my rough sketches and component positions into a detailed 3-D model (STEP or SolidWorks) that allows for efficient plastic injection molding.
• All seals, gaskets, bosses and snap-fits must be dimensioned to guarantee IP65 once the halves are screwed together. A short FEA or simple gasket compression check that shows the seal performance would be appreciated.
• I review the model, give notes, and you supply final files plus a 2-D drawing set suitable for tooling quotes.
Rough dimesnsions of pcb size is 50x50mm by 1.6mm thickness.
On the bottom side of the pcb the tallest component is 3mm
On the top side of the pcb the tallest component is 15mm
This development will only be for prototypes no tooling part as of yet but if it’s a success we will be needing it down the road,
Willing to sit on a teams call and design this side by side to give direction on what is needed, hand sketches of what we need can be provided
