Modern Wood Porch & Deck Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m planning a fresh, modern screened porch that flows into an open wood deck and I need a full design package to hand to my builder. The entire structure will be rendered in wood, but with crisp, contemporary lines and detailing. A key element is an integrated outdoor kitchen, so the layout must account for cooking clearances, ventilation, and utility runs without sacrificing the clean aesthetic.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Scaled plans, elevations, and a simple framing layout that my contractor can read
• A 3D model or high-quality renderings that let me visualize the finished look in daylight and at dusk
• A brief materials and fixtures list—just enough so we can start pricing lumber, screening, hardware, and the kitchen components
• Notes that show where electrical, gas, and lighting feeds should stub out for the kitchen
Acceptance criteria:
• Drawings align with standard U.S. residential building conventions (¼" = 1'-0" or metric equivalent)
• The outdoor kitchen footprint supports a 36" grill, prep counter, and under-counter fridge while preserving comfortable traffic flow
• All wood members called out with real-world sizes and species suggestions suitable for exterior use
