Modern Metal Floating Staircase Design

I’m re-imagining the central circulation of my home with a clean, floating staircase built entirely from metal and finished in a distinctly modern aesthetic. The treads, stringer, and brackets will all be steel, while the guardrail and handrail must use matching metal bars for a seamless, contemporary look.

What I need from you is a complete design package—everything my local fabricator and building inspector will ask for:

• Concept sketches that confirm proportions, tread profile, riser spacing, and the overall visual language
• A refined 3D model (STEP or similar) and high-resolution renders to help me approve the final appearance
• Detailed fabrication drawings showing plate thicknesses, weld locations, and fastener specs, laid out on standard A3 sheets
• Basic structural calculations (load, deflection, anchorage) to demonstrate code compliance
• A concise installation sequence so the builder understands anchor points and order of assembly

The stair transitions one full story (roughly 2.9 m floor-to-floor), and I will supply exact site measurements after project start. I’m aiming for an elegant cantilevered feel—minimal visible supports—with the metal bar railing spaced for safety yet as visually light as possible.
