Modern Built-In Wood Bunk Beds
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m planning a fully built-in bunk bed unit and need a complete design package that blends seamlessly with a modern interior while showcasing warm, natural wood. The concept is a two-tier setup tucked against a wall, but I want it to feel like custom cabinetry rather than a piece of standalone furniture.
Style & material
– Clean, modern lines with minimal ornamentation
– Solid or veneered wood as the primary construction material (no metal frame accents)
Key elements to incorporate
• Four sleeping platforms (2 twins and 2 Queens can be discussed)
• Integrated storage drawers beneath the lower bunk
• Full-length guard rails on the upper bunk that still respect the modern aesthetic
• A space-efficient staircase (not a ladder) that doubles as extra storage if possible
OPEN TO IDEAS AND LAYOUTS.
Cubbies for phones to charge.
Need a Rough sketch first to get approval with clients that they like it and the layout then we can finalize all the details after on the items below. Just need mostly a 3d rendering and layout for approval.
What I expect to receive
– Scaled floor plan and elevation drawings showing exact wall integration
– 3D visuals or renders so I can review proportions and finishes before fabrication
– A detailed cut list and hardware schedule suitable for a carpenter or cabinetmaker
– Assembly notes highlighting load-bearing points and recommended fasteners
I have accurate room dimensions and photos ready to share once we start. If you’re comfortable designing modern built-ins, especially in wood, and can deliver drawings ready for fabrication, I’d love to see recent examples of similar work and discuss timelines.
