Modern Bookshelf Design Concept

Project Description

I have an idea for an innovative piece of furniture and I am looking for a designer to help develop it from concept to manufacturing specifications. The project will be structured in three main stages with milestones payments.

Stage 1 – Conceptual Design

 Develop three distinct 3D design options for a rotating bookshelf, showing overall form, shelf configuration, support structure, and rotation concept.
 Include 2–3 colour variations per option, based on specifications provided in the Design Requirements.
 Use digital simulation tools to produce clear, visually informative 3D sketches or renderings.
 Participate in collaborative review sessions to clarify design intent, confirm assumptions, and respond to client feedback.
 After the client selects a preferred concept, provide refinements and adjustments to align with project expectations before moving to detailed design.

Stage 2 – Final Design & Manufacturing Package

 Develop the chosen concept into a detailed 3D model.
 Prepare complete technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
 Deliver files in CAD formats (DWG, DXF, STEP) and PDF for reference.

Deliverables

 3D concept sketches (multiple options).
 Revised final concept.
 Detailed CAD model and drawings.
 Manufacturing specifications package.

Requirements

 Proven experience in furniture design, product design, or industrial design.
 Skilled in CAD software for both 3D conceptual renderings and technical drawings.
 Ability to provide manufacturer-ready files.
 Strong portfolio of past work in furniture or product design.

Milestone Payment Structure

This project will use Milestone Payments® on Freelancer.com:

 Concept sketches (Milestone 1)
 Revised chosen concept (Milestone 2)
 Detailed CAD drawings (Milestone 3)
 Final manufacturing specifications (Milestone 4)

Additional Information

A detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) document with design requirements, scope of work, deliverables, expectations and bidding form will be shared with shortlisted, qualified service providers.

 The CAD software you use and file formats you can deliver.
