Minimalist 3D Spectacle Case Design
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I want to turn a clean, minimalist concept for a spectacle case into a ready-to-print 3D model. The case must hold standard-sized eyewear securely, but the real headline is style: a refined, pared-back shape that looks good on a desk yet slips easily into a bag or pocket.
Material & finish
I’m leaning toward a biodegradable filament, so please keep wall thicknesses, hinge ideas, and snap-fit details suitable for common PLA/PHA or similar eco-friendly blends. A matte black surface is the target finish; subtle texture that hides layer lines is welcome if it reinforces the overall aesthetic.
Core considerations
• Smooth one-hand opening action—magnetic catch or clever friction lid over bulky mechanical clasps
• No wasted volume; the silhouette should hug the glasses without excess bulk
• Print-orientation and support strategy baked into the design so it comes off a desktop FDM printer cleanly
Deliverables
• Parametric CAD source (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar)
• Optimised STL/3MF ready for 0.2 mm layer FDM printing
• High-quality render showing the black biodegradable finish
• Short assembly/print note highlighting ideal infill, layer height, and any post-processing steps
The project wraps when the file prints successfully on a standard 220 × 220 mm build plate and my pair of glasses fits with a snug, scratch-free hold.
