Metal Pergola Engineering Plans
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m planning a metal-framed pergola that will serve as a comfortable outdoor dining and entertainment space, topped with a solid roof. I need a qualified engineer to turn this idea into a build-ready package that a local contractor can follow and, if needed, present for permit approval.
Scope
• Develop detailed structural drawings (plan, elevations, and sections) sized for a metal frame.
• Specify an appropriate solid roofing system, including connections, drainage, and recommended materials.
• Provide wind, snow, and live-load calculations that satisfy typical U.S. residential code (IBC/IRC) or the equivalent for my region.
• Supply a concise bill of materials listing member sizes, fasteners, and finishes.
• Include a 3D model or clear visual renderings so the installer and I can confirm proportions before fabrication.
Nice-to-haves
If you normally deliver connection details in CAD blocks or can advise on alternative materials such as wood or composite for accent pieces, let me know—flexibility is welcome as long as the primary frame remains metal.
Deliverables should arrive as PDF drawings plus the native CAD files (DWG or similar), accompanied by calculation sheets in PDF or Excel. My goal is a clean, safe design I can hand straight to a fabricator and the building department, so clarity and accuracy are essential.
