Mechanical / Product Design Engineer (3D Modeling & Prototyping)
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Role: 3D design of equipment cases, mechanical components, and preparation of models for prototype and manufacturing (additive / 3D printing / CNC)
Looking for a mechanical/product design engineer with experience in:
- Designing mechanical components and assemblies for prototyping and manufacturing.
- Preparing 3D models for additive manufacturing (3D printing) and CNC machining.
- Creating technical drawings, tolerances, and BOMs for manufacturing.
- Experience with various prototyping and manufacturing methods (SLA, FDM, SLS, CNC etc.)
Required Skills and Tools:
- Inventor, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
- Experience with design for additive manufacturing (DFAM), tolerancing, supports, material constraints
- Mechanical design of enclosures, mechanical assemblies, and moving parts
- Ability to produce technical drawings, tolerances, and BOMs
- Understanding of prototyping methods (SLA, FDM, SLS, CNC etc.)
- Resolving manufacturability issues
Portfolio should include:
- Mechanical components and assemblies designed for prototyping and manufacturing.
- Technical drawings and BOMs for manufacturing.
- Examples of addressing manufacturability issues
