Interactive Web Space Environment -- 2
Budget: $10 – $1,000 USD
I want a browser-first, fully interactive 3-D space scene that can also run in an Oculus headset through WebXR when available. At the centre of the scene sits a glowing nucleus (final label still TBD). Around it, a fixed constellation of realistically rendered stars or miniature worlds appears exactly where I place them in the data file—no in-app editing by end users.
Users should be able to do three things smoothly:
• look freely in every direction, whether on desktop, mobile, or VR
• click or gaze at any star to reveal a concise tooltip that I provide
• fly or instant-teleport from one star to another with gentle ambient camera motion between stops
I am comfortable with Three.js, Babylon.js, or a Unity WebGL build—choose whichever you feel gives the cleanest visuals and the lightest download size, but keep the codebase extensible for future content and interaction layers.
Acceptance criteria and hand-off
• Clean, well-commented source code in a public or private repo
• Simple config or JSON file where I can name the nucleus and position each star
• A short README covering local build, deployment to a static host, and optional WebXR setup for Oculus
• All external assets either royalty-free or clearly noted for licence requirements
Once the deliverables above run in a modern browser at 60 fps on an average laptop, we’re good to go.
